This file is created for laser cut machines such as the Glowforge and other small machines with a 50 x 30 cm (19.7 x 11.8 in) working area.

All pink lines are designated “CUT”.  Please select the appropriate settings to cut your material for these lines.

The file contains three sections:

1).  Double Earring.  If you wish to make the Heart Earrings in a single material, I recommend using the shape under the “DOUBLE EARRING”.  This will cut two pairs of earrings.

2 & 3).  Veneer Backed Earrings

  • I make these earrings in 1/8” wood and acrylic.  I use a 3M backed veneer to back the earring and adhere the inlay into the center section.  A how-to video is available on the product page.
  • Cut the earrings using the second section (Veneer Backed Earrings) in two different 1/8" thick materials (for instance, wood and acrylic).
  • Cut the veneer backing using the third section (Make the hearts below in 3M backed Veneer.).
  • You will have two pairs of complete earrings and two pairs of backing.  Unmask your materials and inlay the inserts into the outer heart.  Place the earring with inlay facedown, peel the backing from the veneer and align the veneer to the earring making sure to align the jump ring hole and firmly press the material including the inlay onto the veneer.

My "How To Make" video is located here.
